Strong Hold attempts GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title with World’s Largest Steel Storage Cabinet
CHICAGO, IL—(03/14/25) Louisville manufacturer Strong Hold is attempting to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for largest steel storage cabinet at the Material Handling Industry of America’s PROMAT 2025 Show, held in Chicago on March 17, 2025.
Strong Hold, an industry leader in designing and manufacturing American-made industrial storage and workplace solutions based in Louisville, KY, is looking forward to its world record attempt for building the largest steel storage cabinet in the world. Its leadership team became even more excited when setting a world record became a reality.
“Every year we try to top the prior year at MHI’s trade show, and with us launching a brand-new product at this year’s event, we knew we needed as many eyes on Strong Hold as possible. Our product and marketing teams got the wild idea of attempting to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title and soon took that idea from concept to reality. As excited as we are to set this record, it’s had an even bigger cultural impact on our company. Every division and just about every one of our 250 employees have had a role in making this happen. We look forward to officially setting the record in Chicago on March 17,” said Tony Diebold, President of Strong Hold.
The 12-gauge, all-welded record-setting cabinet will stand over two stories tall, hold up to 80,000 lbs, and is modeled after one of Strong Hold’s most popular selling products. Designed to be 3.5 times larger than this top-selling item, the oversized cabinet will measure 22.9 feet tall, 10.6 feet wide, and 7 feet deep.
The official record attempt will take place on Monday, March 17, at 1 p.m. CDT during the PROMAT 2025 show at the McCormick Center at the Strong Hold booth located in the South Hall, booth #3255. After the show, the record-setting cabinet will be displayed at Strong Hold’s manufacturing center in Louisville, KY.
